Announcement
Dear all,
I am writing today with some news. I am joining The Times as deputy business editor. As a result, The Only Story in Town will be coming to an end.
I have loved doing The Only Story in Town and we have built a brilliant community of subscribers over the last few months. I am incredibly proud of our work. Thank you for all your support, feedback and ideas. They have made The Only Story in Town better.
Our archive will remain available for all subscribers. Everyone with an annual subscription will be refunded and those with a monthly subscription will have their payments stopped automatically. I hope you continue to enjoy the stories - they are designed to be timeless.
I still passionately believe in the ideas and vision behind The Only Story in Town - in particular the importance of great business stories and journalism.
That is why this opportunity with The Times is too good to turn down. It is an opportunity to help set the agenda with the greatest news organisation in the world and a fantastic team of journalists.
As many of you will know, I previously worked for The Times between 2018 and 2022. I am excited to return having learned so much about digital journalism and how to build an audience with Off To Lunch, Business Leader and The Only Story in Town.
The Times’ commitment to high-quality journalism and being the paper of record is more important than ever in this age of AI. I can’t wait to join the team led by editor Tony Gallagher and business editor Richard Fletcher.
Thank you for all your support. I will be writing a regular column for The Times and if you enjoyed The Only Story in Town you can expect to see similar ideas there.
Best
Graham
